Chapter One

I was going out for the night- the party for my new friend Liana Inkfield. I had just moved here- in Melbourne from Brisbane. I swear I’m not used to the weather changes and especially the people. I reached her two story Town house and people were starting to rock up. “Hi Natalie!” Liana grabbed me with a hug “You look faboulous. Is that anime style?”
My friends here weren’t superbly like me in most ways. Especially in my liking, no, loving for Japan. So whenever they said something wrong, or whatever, I would correct them.
“It’s actually the style in Japan now. It’s not just anime”
“Well, anyway, I’ve got someone for you to meet. He says he knows you.” Oh no. she can’t be talking about-“Well, let’s go see then!” But yes, there he was. Evan Randy. He left Brisbane when we both were in grade five. And my dad just had to do business and follow Evan’s family footsteps to Melbourne, where I now am in year 8. And the thing was that- “Hey Nat. Long time no see” he said ever so casually, like nothing had ever happened.
“Hey”
“Well, I’ll leave you two alone to, catch up.” And she did a little wink at me and left. Don’t leave me Liana. This is the hot, smoldering guy I had a crush on in grade 5 and-
“So, how are you getting used to Melbourne?”
“Fine, fine. How have you been since you left Brisbane?”
“Yeah good. But I’m moving houses. Again.”
“Really? Where?” I was trying to be cool and casual but I could feel the light shade of pink rising in my cheeks.
“Can’t remember which suburb” he did a gun motion thing to his head. I wish I could do that to myself as well. No. you’re being childish Nat. Just the past. Just. The. Past. “But I know I’m going to Brettin High.” NOOOOO!!!!! Well, maybe yes, if you look at it positively, I could fix up my mistake after that tragic spin the bottle game in grade five.
“Really? That’s were Liana and I go!” I tried to sound casually happy, but I think I showed a leetle bit of excitement in my voice.
“High-five!” He put up his hand and, yes! I think he’s past on from-
“So, got any guys falling for you yet?” I knew he was thinking about it.
“Nope. I’m riding the single-mobile.” Then I asked a question that could split my heart in two. “How about you?”
“Nope, I’m riding the mobile to.” YES!!!!!
“Hey,” Alisha, one of my other friends came up to us. “Cake time! Ooh! Love the anime style!” Oh well.
