Chapter 4

So I walked to school. Then took a right at the corner, walked through the bush path, and reached the park. I was five minutes early... well, my watch can’t be trusted. It could be slow. Or fast…argh! I’m so stressed. I trusted Liana to cover for me. The three girls are going to the movies, and I told my parents and stuff that I’m going too, or, so my parents think. I bet they’re gossiping now. About what’ll happen. Fuuuunn. I’m wearing something that’s casually me. A bit Japanese, but metro as well. Wonder if he’s coming soon? Maybe he said 7:30, not 7:00, and I didn’t here the thirty bit. Oh god oh god!!! Craap. I started spinning around in circles, stressfully. Then Evan came.
“Eh…hey Nat.” I swear, just then, he’s thinking I’m some kinda freak.
“Oh...ah...hey Evan.” I tried to stand casually, then tripped. Thank-god that broke the ice.
“Here, let me help. That was pretty retarded” he said, laughing.
“Ah, thanks. Yeah, I know. Just calming myself down.”
“Is that how they calm themselves down in chi-“
“Japan”
“In Japan?”
“No, not as I know of.” Wonder when he’ll know the difference between china and Japan. Eh, that can wait. Then we just started to talk about school, and anything else that crossed our minds. It was fun. I could be more of myself in front of him. I didn’t have to act so girly. If this was an anime, in daylight, there’d be an ice-cream cart coming around the corner. They have ice-cream carts there all the time. But it’s night, and, it’s Melbourne. As if-
“Hey, can you hear bells?” What in the world?
“Yeah… what the?” Then came an Ice-cream cart.
“Well, isn’t that…weird?? I said
“Maybe it’s a ghost ice-cream cart” then he started to act all ghostly
“And he’s gonna get you with his ice-scream scoop of death and rainbow hell scoop!”
But it just looked like a normal cart. I was, “brave” enough to go up there and ask for a chocolate scoop. Evan got peppermint choc-chip.
“Isn’t it bit cold for ice-cream Nat?”
“Yeah, but Ice-cream is cool, all the same.”
“Hey, can I have some?” and then he just dipped his finger in my ice-cream.
“Hey!” Then I started play-wrestling him for some peppermint. It was fun; we were laughing like maniacs. Then Evan tripped, and we both fell on a park bench, and he landed safely. On. Top. Of. Me. Thank-goodness it was dark, or I’d be red. Somehow, though, the ice-creams survived the incident. Get a grip Nat! A guy has just fallen on you, and all you can think about is ice-cream?! We didn’t say anything for what felt like ages.
“S-sorry” stuttered Evan.
“Nah, it’s fine” although it was dark, I knew he and I sound completely embarrassed.
“So…ah…” trying to start a conversation is hard. Really hard. But then, out of nowhere. He kissed me. Evan, the greatest guy on earth kissed me, boring, Japan-obsessed me. His watch started to beep. He broke of the kiss.
“The bus is going soon. I’ll see you tomorrow, yeah?”
“Yeah. Bye.” I managed to say. He then went off to his bus. I feel so light-headed. My first kiss with the perfect guy. This is the greatest night in the whole entire universe.
Hey, that’s a pretty cool necklace. Just there, on the ground, was a diamond necklace with a sapphire middle. I’ll hand it in to the police station tomorrow- someone would be searching for it. So I went to pick it up. And then I was engulfed in light so magical, I couldn’t even guess what was going to happen next.

Glossary
"If this was an anime, in daylight, there’d be an ice-cream cart coming around the corner. They have ice-cream carts there all the time." - IN japan, alot of parks have ice-cream cartsetc around, so it's pretty easy to find an ice-cream cone to help make that date great! (woh..I sound like someone trying to advertise something....)
